Digital Citizenship

Define Digital Citizenship and Personal Branding with positive examples of it.

Digital Citizenship incorporates respect, education, and protection into its etiquette. You respect yourself and others by adhering to standards of conduct and procedure. One way is in creating your own works rather than taking from others. Through creativity and work, one creates a Personal Brand with integrity. It becomes a reflection of your core value, strengths, and amassed skill sets.

Digital literacy is a major factor when comes to understanding and exchanging digital communication. The more we learn, and the greater we expand our understanding, the better we can exchange ideas and electronic goods. This is exampled through each of our classes as they progress!

Digital protection incorporates physical, mental and electronic precautions. One can physically limit access to electronics and sensitive information. With increased digital literacy, one can boost their electronic precaution, such as implementing a firewall or added layers of encryption.

Define the concept of “Pay It Forward” and how it relates marketing, online storytelling, and your personal experiences.

The ‘Pay it Forward’ concept is something I’ve come across several times. From a stranger covering another’s bill, to leaving change in the dish by a cash register. I’ve often left my coin change with the person running the register where I’m shopping. There have been a handful of times that I didn’t quite have enough cash to cover what I was buying, and a few coins made a world of difference.

Working at a drive thru, I can recall quite a few times when someone came through, paid for their order, then paid for the next order too. I think it’s a small but kind way to help others.
